A Question

Hello everyone I am going to do something different for this blog today. I want to know if you can answer something for me. I have been working on strengthening my faith as far as praying and receiving. I was wondering, is it a lack of faith to wonder if God will say no? For an example, let's say someone is believing that God will get them this one job but they look for other jobs just in case the answer is no. Is that a lack of faith that they are thinking maybe God will say no?
Please comment and I will then blog later my experiences on getting this answer.
God Bless!

Wow, what an awesome question! And what an awesome example. The hypothetical example is something I just experienced in real life. I, in faith, did not apply for another job while waiting for an answer, I also did not get the job! But you know I wasn't crushed or to dissappointed. I know that whatever God has in store for me, will be greater. His word promises us that He will give us the desires of our hearts. Perhaps this job wasn't it. He knows all things and see things from the end to the beginning. Who am I to wonder or question. I just place my hope in Him, to know where I am going. I am a big fan of anagrams, and one of my favorites is FAITH...Fantastic Adventures In Trusting Him.

I do not believe it is a lack of faith to wonder if God will say no. But it is a lack of faith to doubt Him when he does.

The candidate (regarding my last post) who is running for a governmental office this year doesn't have a great chance of winning. And that's hard to swallow -he's a man of Faith, one who fears God and stands grounded in God's Word. His contender is ever so secular. So I pray, along with thousands of others, that this Godly man will be elected to lead our state.

But the question always haunts me: What if he doesn't win? Will all my work to help him be in vain?

I've come to the conclusion that God knows far more than I ever will. He knows everything about the past, present, and future. If it is in His plan that the secular man takes office in leading our state, then I trust Him (God, not the secular leader) with all my heart. After all, He is God, and He has a bigger plan -one that I can't see or comprehend. I know that my job is to fight hard for what is right -to follow God's commands, and obey Him no matter what.

I find it hard listening to the hundreds and thousands of issues in our current time: Iran and nuclear research, Iraq, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Chloroflourocarbons, "Global Warming," starvation, sickness and disease, communism, terrorism, Islam- and then get a feeling of hopelessness from people around me about these things, and life in general. These people I've talked to have a twisted worldview of "Why try? Why fight? It's not going to make a difference. Just wait until Christ returns."

I'm very frustrated with this mentality. It is lame, ignorant, and disobedient. Life is a test -it's not supposed to be easy. We're supposed to fight until the day we die for Christ. That is why we are here! To honor and glorify as we battle for Him. To sit on the sidelines and do nothing makes me irate. If the world can't be won over, I'll die fighting. If I "Can't make a difference," I'll loose trying.

In the end, I've got to keep fighting in everything I can, making every difference I can. We must pray for God's help -we can't fight alone. We pray that certain things be done, that we gain strength to endure, etc. Questioning what God's answers for us will be, in my opinion (at this point), is not being un-faithful. But questioning his answers once He's made them is. It shows a lack of faith in His plan.

Also, there is a fine line between "wondering" if God will say no and worrying if He will say no. -And, if we worry, then that shows a lack of faith (imo).

That is a very, very fine line.
